A practical, gentle workbook for overwhelmed parents who have spent far too long braced for impact. Carrying everyone, managing the system, soothing the kids, answering the emails, swallowing the fear, and wondering when on earth they get to breathe.
Not another shiny self help book...
telling you to wake up at 5am, drink green sludge and become a brand new woman by Tuesday. This is a steady, honest guide back to yourself, one tiny human step at a time.
Calm in the Chaos was created for the parent who looks like they are coping because everything is still technically functioning, but inside feels permanently on edge.
It's for the nervous system that has been running emergency software for years. It's for the person who needs less judgement, more permission, and something practical to hold onto when life is doing the absolute most.
So why does this exist?
This workbook grew out of years of parenting through trauma, navigating systems that were not built with our children in mind, and trying to find steadiness while life kept lobbing emotional bricks through the window.
It comes from the notes, journals, late-night realisations, car-park tears, nervous-system learning, school battles, small wins, big grief, and all the tiny moments where I realised that calm is not about being serene and floaty.
Sometimes calm is just knowing what is yours, what is not yours, and what the next gentle step might be.
This is not about fixing yourself
This is about understanding your nervous system
So you can stop blaming yourself for very human responses to chronic stress, uncertainty and overload.
It's about making room for the grief because sometimes we need to name what has been lost before we can build something steadier.
Calm in the Chaos is an A5 guided workbook with over 50 pages of reflections, prompts, permission slips, nervous-system support and practical exercises.
It is designed to be used in tiny pockets of time, because most overwhelmed parents do not have three silent hours, a lake house and a fountain pen. Shocking, I know.
- Understanding survival mode and why your body may still feel unsafe even when the immediate danger has passed
- Gentle reflections to help you notice what is yours to carry and what was never yours in the first place
- Space for grief, honesty and the complicated feelings that come with parenting through hard seasons
- Values work to help you reconnect with what actually matters to you, not what everyone else says should matter
- Practical calming tools, grounding prompts, worksheets and reflection pages you can print and small next steps for the days when your brain is a browser with 84 tabs open
WHO THIS IS FOR
For the parent who is done pretending it is all fine
This is for you if
you are parenting a neurodivergent child, recovering from years of stress, or trying to rebuild your own steadiness while still being needed by everyone around you.
It's especially for
the parent who has become brilliant at coping but secretly knows that coping is not the same as living. It is for the ones who want practical tools, emotional honesty, and permission to stop measuring themselves against people who have not walked their road.
But what if I'm too overwhelmed already?
Start tiny. Read one page. Answer one prompt. Circle one sentence. This workbook is designed for real nervous systems, not imaginary productivity machines.

WHY I CREATED CALM IN THE CHAOS...
I got tired of watching overwhelmed parents quietly disappear underneath impossible levels of pressure.
I know what it feels like to carry everybody else while slowly losing yourself in the process.
I know what it feels like to lie awake at 2am mentally rehearsing conversations.
To panic when your phone rings.
To feel emotionally overloaded all the time while still trying to function normally.
And I also know this:
Parents do not need more pressure to “cope better.”
They need support.
Real support.
Grounded support.
Nervous-system-aware support.
That’s why Calm in the Chaos exists ❤️🔥
